We are so pleased to introduce our monthly amateur (and professional, if you're so inclined) scenic photography contest, featuring the sights of Missoula and Western Montana. At the beginning of every month, we'll be asking you to submit photos on a theme, and at the end of every month, we'll be asking the community to vote on their favorite submitted photos. If your photo is selected as the community's Montana Shot of the Month, you'll win a great monthly prize and be entered to win our Grand Prize: a pair of season passes for 2018-2019 University of Montana Grizzly Football.

December's Theme was LIGHT.

The depths of winter are approaching, but it's important to remember that when we cross over the solstice, that just means summer is on its way. For all the dark and cold that December holds, this is a season of light, and we want to see that from you. Whether it's the multi-colored electric lights adorning your Christmas tree or the sublime spectacle of a mid-December dawn, show us Montana's light.

We're taking January off. Submissions will resume on February 1st, 2018.

Submit your photos using the form above. There is no limit to the number of photos you can submit each month, although we reserve the discretion not to include any photos in the voting round that we do not believe match the level of quality that this contest encourages. We do not bar photography captured on nontraditional cameras (in fact, we think smartphone photography is great!), but photos of too low resolution will be thrown out. We cannot accept photos with watermarks. By submitting to this contest, you avow to hold all rights to your submission, and grant those same rights to Townsquare Media for purposes of conduction and promotion of this contest.
