57 year-old John Stone of Montana was apprehended by Idaho authorities Monday afternoon while at Jerry Johnson Hot Springs, located just over the Montana-Idaho border.

Idaho County Sheriff Doug Gittings says Stone was wanted for assault and deliberate homicide charges out of Libby, Montana.  Sheriff Gittings says as the arresting officers were walking over a footbridge, Stone attempted to jump in the hot springs. He was restrained by officers and taken to the county jail in Grangeville to await extradition to Montana. My interview with Sheriff Gittings is below.
