Medical marijuana advocate Tom Daubert received a five year probationary sentence and no time in prison on Thursday September 6, 2012. Daubert was tried by U.S. District judge Dana Christensen in Missoula after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to maintain a drug-involved premises.

Filmmaker Rebecca Richman Cohen who has been following the Daubert story for the film Code of the West explains what the Daubert ruling means from her perspective.

Daubert was deeply involved in crafting Montana's medical marijuana initiative and has continued to try to educate the public about medical marijuana since federal agents raided his former business, Montana Cannabis in 2011.
