KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) — The Hawaii County police department says a 68-year-old Montana man pulled from the waters off the Big Island died of cardiac arrest.

Police said Tuesday an autopsy last week determined the cause of death for Edward Woyciehowicz (WOH'-jee-hoh'-witz) of Missoula, Mont.

He was believed to have drowned in the waters off the western coast of the Big Island a week ago.

A lifeguard at Kahaluu (cah-HA'-loo-oo) Beach Park had pulled him out of the water and started CPR.

Rescue personnel continued CPR, but Woyciehowicz was pronounced dead at Kona Community Hospital.
