Montana State Senator Ryan Zinke spent most of his 22  years in the military with the elite navy seal team credited with killing Osama Bin Laden, and is a former commander of team 6. The 49 year old republican, from Whitefish, is the former deputy commander of special forces in Iraq, and was part of team 6 operations in Iraq, the Philippines, Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzogovina. Zinke  describes team 6, which takes nearly 10  years of training to become part of, as the best of the best.

Zinke says he feels a bond with the team members who carried out the bin laden mission early Sunday, but hopes they remain faceless, considering the high stakes and threat of retribution.
