Montana Grizzly linebacker Brock Coyle was named the ROOT Sports defensive player of the week on Monday, November 25, according to the Big Sky Conference.

Coyle, from Bozeman, recorded 14 tackles, had two forced fumbles, a sack and had two tackles for loss in the annual 'Brawl of the Wild' football game between the Grizzlies and the Montana State Bobcats on Saturday. The final score was 28-14.

Montana Sports Information said that Coyle registered 13 solo tackles and had one assisted stop. Both of his forced fumbles were recovered by Montana, and the second one led the Grizzlies to a touchdown that put them ahead by a score of 21-7. The Grizzlies held the Bobcats to just 112 yards of rushing and 272 yards of total offense.This is Coyle's second career player of the week award.

Coyle leads the Grizzlies with 113 tackles this season.

The Grizzlies ended the regular season 10-2 and received a first-round bye in the FCS playoffskb. They will play the winner of the Coastal Carolina-Bethune Cookman game in Missoula on December 7.
