Gas prices in Montana are nearly identical to what they were a week ago, dropping only about two cents. Although the national average jumped up a penny, Montana's average price of $3.45 per gallon is still higher than the national price of $3.42.

Montana fuel prices are about 20 cents cheaper than they were last year and nearly a quarter cheaper than just last month. DeHaan notes that Montana lags national trends by about two weeks and expects our price to inch upward, though not by much, in the next few weeks.
