You have to put someone in charge of the talent, so what happens if they don’t produce right away?In the spotlight right now is Bobby Valentine. He has had a rough season managing the Boston Red Sox. Fans, players and ownership have weighed in on his decision-making and leadership ability. Some of the players don’t necessarily trust him and his team has struggled. Ownership, however, is backing him up.
Is there another job in professional sports that is more scrutinized than manager of a Major League Baseball team? An NFL brings a coach in and gives them a couple seasons to get things together. In baseball, it seems that if you have a bad season, you are a failure.
