85th Annual Memorial Day Services – 2012

9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Caras Park Memorial Day Service

Speakers, honor and color guards, flyover.

(Line up at Fish Statue along Clark Fork River with slow walk to Caras Park overlook.  Service starts at 10 a.m.)

10:45 to 11:30 a.m.

Missoula County Courthouse Ceremony

Speakers, honor and color guards, flyover.

(Line up at WWI Doughboy Statue at 10:45 a.m.  Service starts at 11 a.m. at Gazebo.)

12 Noon to 12:15 p.m. (approximate)

Fort Missoula Military Cemetery

No speakers but honor and color guards.

12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Western Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery

Speakers, honor and color guards, flyover.

(Line up at sidewalk behind chairs. Service starts at 12:30 p.m.)

1:15 to 2 p.m. (approximate)

Sunset Memorial – lunch and break

No speakers but honor and color guards.

(Lunch and rest at Sunset.  Service when units finish lunch)

2 to 3 p.m.

Missoula City Cemetery

St. Mary’s Cemetery

St. Mary’s Annex Cemetery

No speakers but honor and color guards.

3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Rose Memorial Garden Park

Speakers, wreaths on monuments, honor and color guards, flyover.  Two services.

Bus for honor and color guards provided by Beach Transportation.

Baskets of red, white and blue flowers provided by Benson’s Farm.

Wreaths provided for all ceremonies by VFW Auxiliary 209.

Three volleys (known as 21-gun salute) by VFW Post 209.

Color guards from American Legion Post 27, Civil Air Patrol, Knights of Columbus.
