Homeword is set to celebrate the grand opening of their new, mixed-use building on the corner of Broadway and Russell. The building, known as Solstice, sits on a riverfront parcel which was donated by the Missoula Community to the Homeword sustainable housing project. The unit includes 34 apartments, office spaces, solar panels, an underground parking lot, and even re-purposed bowling lanes.

The construction of the building was made possible through partnership with U.S. Bank, Neighborworks Montana, Montana Board of Housing, MT State Home Program, Missoula City Home and Community Development Block Grant Program, Missoula Redevelopment Agency, Housing and Urban Development, and the Home Depot Foundation.

The grand opening will occur on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Homeword's Executive director, Andrea Davis describes the event as "an opportunity for the community to tour the facility, socialize with the folks who made this project happen and take some time out to recognize the value of affordable housing in our community."

The Solstice complex is located at 1535 Liberty Lane.
