Missoula Police Walk In on Possible Strangulation Attempt, Man Faces Multiple Felonies

Near 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, police responded to a call from the 100 block of Grandview Way, where police witnessed a crime in process. Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“Upon their arrival they spoke to a neighbor who actually was the one who called based on what she heard in her neighbor’s apartment,” said Welsh. “When the officers knocked on the door they heard someone crying inside and later learned after they made entry that it was a female involved.”

The man involved in the incident has been convicted in at least two partner or family member assault cases in the past.

“The officers made entrance into the apartment where the disturbance seemed to originate and discovered a male and female,” Welsh said. “The male was actually holding a female down on the floor. He was quickly taken into custody without incident and identified as 32-year-old Kenneth Adams. He has been arrested for aggravated assault and third offense partner for family assault which is also a felony.”

According to police reports, the woman who was pinned to the floor claimed that during the altercation Adams tried to strangle her with his hands.
