Missoula Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who was allegedly peeping into a woman's window on Missoula's west side.

Public Information Officer Detective Sergeant Travis Welsh said the residence involved is on Sherwood Street.

"The apparent burglary attempt was reported on July 10th," Welsh said. "The resident there has a camera set up at her house that's part of her home security system. She was able to capture on video what appears to be somebody attempting to gain entry into her home."

Welsh said the woman captured more images of concern on her security cameras.

"Just yesterday she was able to find on this video footage, another incident that had happened earlier that morning where an unknown man had come to her door and looked inside, as if he were looking for something or someone," Welsh said. "Our concern is that both of these incidents may have involved the same man. The person who appeared in that video is certainly someone we would like to identify and talk with, so we are asking for the public's help in identifying this person."

Police are already receiving tips on the possible identity of the suspect from the surveillance photos.
