Missoula police, acting on a tip from an informant, recovered over $10,000 in stolen snowboard gear and vehicle parts on Sunday, March 16.

Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said that the theft was reported to the police department on Saturday morning, March 15. The theft involved the break-in to a vehicle parked at a hotel on North Reserve Street. It was estimated that nearly $10,000 in snowboard gear and vehicle parts were taken.

On Sunday, officers prepared a search warrant for a residence in the 3600 block of Stephens Avenue. The search revealed nearly all of the stolen property, which was subsequently recovered.

Police detectives are currently conducting interviews and gathering leads, and a suspect has been identified, but he is currently at large and being sought for questioning.
