Just after 4 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, an employee at an Albertson's grocery store alerted Missoula police that a man matching the description of the Taco Bell robber on February 6 was on the premises.

The employee said the man was using the payphone just outside the store.

Officers surrounded the area after notifying University of Montana police, and quickly intercepted the man in the 1100 block of east Broadway. After questioning him, it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant out of another county.

The suspect was placed in the Missoula County Detention Center, and will be questioned by detectives later on Thursday.

The February 6 robberies of a local motel and the Taco Bell restaurant triggered a city-wide manhunt and caused the University of Montana, and several public and private schools to lock down for several hours. The suspect was never located.
