Missoula Police discovered a dead body last night. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh has the details:

“Yesterday evening just before 7 p.m. officers were called to the report of a male who was unresponsive located at the intersection of West Pine and Scott Street,” said Welsh. “Officers arrived and tried to wake the man by calling out his name, calling out to him,  shaking him etcetera and it was determined that he was in fact deceased.”

Welsh says police know the identity of the man, but an investigation determining the cause of death is underway.

“We know who he was at this point, but we don’t know exactly the cause of death,” Welsh said. “There were no signs of any physical trauma or anything that would indicate at this point to us that foul play was involved, but we are continuing to investigate. At this point it appears that he had settled for the night and found a location where he rolled out his sleeping bag and for all intents and purposes it looks this morning like he fell asleep and didn’t wake up.”

Anyone will potential information about this incident is asked to call the Missoula Police Department.
