Missoula has been included in yet another list of the nation's cities. Along with being one of the most popular cities for hippies, Missoula is also apparently one of the Top Ten College Towns of 2013, according to Livability.com.

Livibility.com gave Missoula seventh place on their list (see below) but the top slot went to Boulder, Colorado. Livability.com editor Matt Carmichael describes some of the standards that were used to determine the best college towns in the U.S.

“First of all, we look at characteristics over-all livability; things like walk-ability, climate, the environment and the amenities in town,” Carmichael said. "Then for the college town list we focus on things that apply to both the student population and the retention of the student population.”

Carmichael says Livability puts up many top ten lists, but that the college towns list receives some of the most feedback. He also said the site is geared toward some of the nations smaller college communities. Of those, Missoula did exceptionally well.

“Missoula did well across the board," Carmichael said. "It's a great college town with a lot of things going for it; great natural amenities, it's well located and it's got a nice downtown as well. We were also attracted to the outreach that the school does with the community, things like the Easter Eggstravaganza.
