Elwood Friedrich, 23, appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Monday and was charged with arson, after allegedly setting two fires in the restroom at Barnes and Noble bookstore.

According to Missoula Police department Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, Friedrich was highly intoxicated at the time of the incident that occurred on Sunday.

"It appears that he started a roll of toilet paper on fire inside the men's restroom, and then started another fire inside the restroom's trash can," Welsh said. "He was seen by a witness at the store who followed the suspect until police arrived and took Mr. Friedrich into custody. He was intoxicated at the time of his arrest."
