A Missoula man, Vladimir Ivanovich Shved, has been charged with two felony counts of unlawful use of a computer, after allegedly hacking into the database of his former employer, Logistical Systems/Education Logistics. According to court documents, the company had recently laid off Shved and five other workers. On November 10th, an attorney for the company reported that its computer systems had been hacked, and data had been altered or deleted. In addition, when employees attempted to restore the systems, they discovered that the backup systems had also been erased. An investigation has determined that Shved was responsible for the malicious intrusions, damaging the business that serves over 200 clients. Logistical Systems/ Education Logistics provides software for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Services.
