The Missoula Food Bank is hoping to move out of its current location and into a new one.

"Quite simply, the need has outgrown our location at 219 South 3rd Street West," said Missoula Food Bank Director of Development and Advocacy Jessica Allred. "There are many mornings where there is standing room only, lines out the door, the physical space has just not kept up with the need in Missoula for emergency food assistance."

The food bank has picked a new location, and plan to meet with the public to discuss the location on Wednesday, February 25.

The site is at 207 North Catlin, so it's going to be right on the corner of Wyoming and Catlin Streets," Allred said. "It is kitty corner from West Side Lanes, and about a block down from Home Resource. We will be in a high need area. There is a lot of high density housing in the immediate vicinity, but it's also right in the middle of town. It's in the city center."

If the community gets behind the new location, and enough funds come in for the redevelopment. The Food Bank is expected to make a full move within the next two years and could close on the Catlin site by May of 2015.
