Missoula Enters a Deep Freeze Through the Weekend [AUDIO]
Missoula received it's first real taste of winter Monday night into Tuesday morning, December 3, however temperatures will drop as the week continues.
Forecaster for the National Weather Service Corby Dickerson said that Missoula can look forward to a frigid week.
"It's going to feel really cold, especially if you're in downtown Missoula," Dickerson said. "It looks like wind chill readings will probably be sitting in the minus 10 to minus 15 degree range, and that will continue through tonight and into tomorrow morning, as well."
Dickerson looks forward to the weekend, when the Montana Grizzlies entertain the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina. He said game-time conditions will be especially frigid.
"Right now, we're forecasting a low of minus six, with the high not even reaching 10," Dickerson said. "The other part about it is, you know down at the stadium, it's near the Hellgate Canyon. Even if there's only a five to seven mile-per-hour wind coming out of there, with those temperatures hovering around zero, it's just going to be cold."
At game-time, wind chill factors could be between 10 and 15 degrees below zero.
