Missoula Couple Discover Apartment Lease Scam

A Missoula couple recently found themselves targeted by a Craigslist scam that was offering apartments for lease at extremely low rates. Missoula County Sheriff Department Public Information Officer Jason Johnson describes the case.

These scams effect more than just the buyers and renters of properties. Home sellers should be aware that untrue ads about their home might be advertised on sites like Craigslist as well. Oftentimes, these ads will show the home as a rental with a very low month to month price point in an effort to lure in victims.
