After nine months of work by a wide collaboration of community agencies, the 2015-2018 Missoula County Community Health Improvement Plan has been finalized.

Health Promotion Director at the Missoula City County Health Department, Cindy Hotchkiss, said the plan actually grew out of data that was collected for the 2014 Community Health Assessment

"A couple of things that became very clear as we were working through the community health assessment process were two priority areas," Hotchkiss said. "The two areas are access to care and obesity. We want to be able to work together and pool our resources to make sure we're not duplicating each other."

Some of the health care organizations that will be working together include Missoula Urban Indian Health Center, Providence St. Patrick Hospital, Planned Parenthood, Missoula Parks & Recreation, Missoula Aging Services, Partnership Health Center, and the Dental Hygienists Association.

The CHIP report is available immediately for review on the Missoula City-County Health Department website. Copies are also available at the reference desk of the Missoula Public Library and the UM Mansfield Library.
