Missoula police are investigating an armed robbery at a coffee stand on Southwest Higgins that occurred Sunday morning, January 26, at approximately 11 a.m.

Corporal Sean Manraksa said the unidentified man threatened the female clerk at the drive-up coffee stand at 700 Southwest Higgins with a hunting knife.

"The clerk described the weapon as a six-inch hunting knife," Manraksa said. "The suspect was described as a Caucasian adult male, approximately six-feet, two-inches tall with an average build, probably in his mid to late 50's. He was wearing a plain dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and tan work boots, with a bandana over his face with dark sunglasses. The suspect fled on foot in a northwesterly direction with an undisclosed amount of cash."

Manraksa said detectives had been investigating the incident most of the day on Sunday.

"They've been talking to people in the neighborhood and other businesspeople in the area," Manraksa said. "They've also been checking to see if other stores in the area may have caught the suspect on their surveillance cameras. No one was injured during the incident, and the suspect remains at large."

Anyone who may have information regarding the armed robbery at the coffee shop at 700 southwest Higgins is asked to call the Missoula Police Department at 552-6300, or Missoula Crimestoppers at 721-44-44.
