Missoula City Councilman Adam Hertz Comments on Proposed Gas Tax
On Monday, the Missoula city council will decide whether or not to recommend to Missoula county commissioners that a two cent gas tax be placed on the ballot in November. City councilman Adam Hertz says “the city council will absolutely pass the resolution,” but that “it is unlikely to be on the ballot in the fall.” Hertz describes the gas tax as “the lesser of two evils,” inferring that property taxes are the greater evil. Hertz also adds that he would prefer to initiate the gas tax, while simultaneously lessening property taxes. The entire interview with Hertz and KGVO News is contained in the audio box below.
