GLENDIVE, Mont. (AP) — The Miles Community College baseball team won the Region IX baseball tournament for the seventh consecutive year.

The Billings Gazette reports Miles CC defeated Southeast Community College of Nebraska 8-4 in Sunday's championship game in Glendive.

Jaron Gold got the win and Chad Becker got the final two outs for the save. Skyler Smith had a home run and three RBIs while Tucker Young went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

The Pioneers advance to the North Plains District Tournament in Williston, N.D., starting Friday.

The winner of the three-team tournament advances to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Okla.
