A coalition of Montana Law Enforcement, Mental Health Providers and advocates are against  proposed cuts that would affect Montana’s mental health and substance abuse infrastructure. a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives would cut the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHAS) by 8.4 % .

Montana Mental Health Caucus Member Kathy McGowan says they have been writing letters to Congressman  Denny Rehberg urging him to reconsider the proposed cuts. (That interview is below)

McGowan says these proposed cuts will take a heavy toll on some of the most vulnerable people in our state. Their letters to congressman Rehberg emphasize that the cuts will jeopardize the efforts that have been made by so many to move Montana forward in a responsible manner.
