Mark Wakai has been the Regional Chief Operations & Strategy Officer for Providence Health & Services in the Western Montana Region since January 2012. Wakai was recruited in November 2007 as the President of the Physician Services Division and Vice President of Business Development for St. Patrick Hospital in the Western Montana Region where he served in this capacity through December 2011.
Wakai’s responsibilities include oversight for St. Patrick Hospital, St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, MT and Providence Medical Group of Montana.
Prior to arriving to Missoula, Wakai served as the President/CEO of Rocky Mountain Health Network from September 1999 to November 2007. He also served in a leadership role for the Medical Practices Division of St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings Montana. Wakai has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with composite minors in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Masters in Health Administration
