The Titans' Marc Mariani has been named the AFC's special teams player of the week for his 79-yard punt return for a touchdown against Carolina.

It's the second award for Mariani, who also won the honor last year after returning a punt 87 yards for a touchdown against Washington.

A seventh-round pick out of Montana in 2010, Mariani was voted to the Pro Bowl as a returner. He ranked second in the AFC and fourth in the NFL with a 12.2-yard average on punt returns and fourth in the AFC on kickoff returns, averaging 25.5 yards.

Mariani also set the franchise record for total yards on punt and kickoff returns last season with 1,859 yards.

The TD against the Panthers put Tennessee up 7-0 en route to a 38-8 win.
