If you notice more smoke in the air this week, it's likely because March 1, is the beginning of burn season. Normally, those who wanted to light a bonfire or get rid of leaf piles in Missoula county would have to go to the nearest fire station to get a permit. All of that is changing this year, as citizens can now go online to get permits. The permits cost $5 and the new system is expected to help fire crews keep tabs on when and where fires are occurring.  Cindy Super from the Missoula County Fire Protection Association gives more information on the program.
