Man Released from Hospital After Cow Attack

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — An Acton man who was injured while trying to help corral a runaway cow in Billings has been released from the hospital.
Morgan Logan suffered broken bones in his lower leg and had sore ribs after being thrown by the 1,200-pound cow after it escaped from the Public Auction Yards Tuesday afternoon.
Logan says he was driving a gravel truck when he saw the police trying to contain the cow and decided to try to help them. He says the next thing he knew he was in the air.
Police Lt. Kevin Iffland says by the time Logan encountered the cow it had already tipped over a bicyclist, charged pedestrians and nearly jumped over one of the police vehicles.
A police marksman shot the cow.
