DILLON, Mont. (AP) — A Washington state man has pleaded guilty to murdering his 3-year-old son in a remote Montana field.

Jeremy Cramer of Lacey told District Judge Loren Tucker yesterday he is ready to take accountability for the July 8 death of his son, Broderick.

The 38-year-old Cramer said he wanted to get it over with and whether his sentence is eight years or 80 years, his son is not here.

Cramer pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide. Prosecutors say he took his child from their home and drove to southwestern Montana, where he killed the boy in a field 5 miles from the town of Anaconda.

Public defender Sherry Stadler says a plea agreement recommends a sentence of life in prison with no parole restrictions.

A sentencing date has not been set.
