An inmate in the Butte jail has died.

Butte-Silver Bow Coroner Lee LaBreche tells The Montana Standard the 40-year-old man died Thursday afternoon. He says no foul play is suspected.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started on the man at the jail before he was taken to a hospital.

The inmate's name and details of how he died weren't immediately released.

LaBreche says an autopsy and toxicology test will be conducted Friday.
