BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 36-year-old Billings man is charged with stealing more than $24,000 from a woman in her 80s.

The Billings Gazette reports David Michael Knox appeared in Justice Court Monday via video from the Yellowstone County jail. Justice of the Peace Larry Herman set bail at $20,000 for Knox, who is charged with felony exploitation of an older person.

Prosecutors allege Knox took nearly $18,000 from the woman's bank accounts over several months in 2010 and billed her for services he didn't provide.
