University of Montana Professor’s View on Mayan ‘End Of The World’ Calendar [AUDIO]

Over the past year, more and more focus has been placed on December 21st, which some say marks the end of the world on the Mayan calendar.
University of Montana professor of anthropology John Douglas made an initial comment, saying ‘I’ll be Christmas shopping on December 22nd’. In other words, Douglas, an expert in Mayan history, does not believe the end of the world as we know it is imminent.
Douglas says the Mayan calendar is about to count down to zero, and then like a car’s odometer, start again. He is amused that there has been such wild speculation on the internet about a possible end of the world message through such an ancient culture.
Douglas says he plans to take some graduate students to ancient Mayan sites in January of 2013.
