Missoula County sheriff's officials are looking for information about a robbery that occurred in Lolo at about midnight on Tuesday, August 6.

Sheriff's office Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone said the items were stolen from a vehicle outside a home on Essex in Lolo.

"The homeowner said he heard something outside, he at first thought it was an animal," Pavalone said. "He looked outside and saw the interior light on in his vehicle that was parked in front of his house. The resident, who did not have his glasses on, said he vaguely saw the suspect flee toward Lolo Elementary School."

Pavalone said the homeowner described the items he discovered were missing from the vehicle.

"A Springfield XTN .45 caliber handgun was taken out of the console, and then later, he found that two fly-fishing rods were also stolen out of the vehicle, and we are actively looking for those items right now," Pavalone said. "There was a magazine in the handgun, although we don't know if there was a round in the chamber, but yes, the gun was loaded."

Pavalone asks anyone with information to contact the Missoula County Sheriff's Office at 258-4810, or call Crimestoppers at 721-44-44.
