Starting Monday, March 7, Missoula's Community Medical Center will be the new sponsor of the KGVO radio Health Talk program.

Associate Public Information Director Robin O'Day said the first show will introduce Community's new CEO Dean French.

"What makes him a little different from most CEO's is that he's actually a physician, so we are a physician-led model here at the hospital," O'Day said. "Before he took this position, he practiced for 10 years in Plains at Clark Fork Valley Hospital. From there he decided to go into administration and before he came to Missoula he was at Sierra Vista, a facility much like that here at Community, in Arizona. He has been looking forward to coming back to Montana. His wife is studying law here at the University of Montana, and two of his four children are here in the state, as well."

O'Day said the Health Talk show will give Community the opportunity to not only introduce its physicians and specialists, but to also address healthcare needs that the public is concerned about.

"Whether it's an outbreak or a sickness that's running rampant in Missoula, or concerns over billing questions or the health exchange, we'll be able to address all those issues," she said. "Two of the physicians we'll have on the show in the opening weeks include Dr. Ryan Marshall, he's our plastics doctor, and he's incredibly knowledgeable and engaging on skin care and how to protect your skin from the sun's damage. Then, Dr. Beals is our pediatric surgeon who came to us from Seattle Children's Hospital."

The Health Talk program airs from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. each Monday on Newstalk KGVO 1290 AM and 101.5 FM, as well as streaming on the Newstalk KGVO website.
