Marijuana advocates are planning on lobbying the governor to veto Senate Bill 423 before the May 13 deadline. The bill would do away with almost all of the state’s medical marijuana businesses, and switch to a “grow-your-own” system. Medical marijuana supporters are also gathering signatures for a voter initiative to block strict regulations set to become law this summer in Montana. Missoula Chapter Director for the Montana Medical Growers Association, Tayln Lang says there is still hope for the industry.

Lang goes on to explain the recent legal action with the new Montana Cannabis Industry Association hiring the well-known Bozeman attorney James Goetz.

Lang says the Montana Cannabis Industry Association was able to gather the $50,000 for Goetz’s retainer in less than a weeks time.
