Lawyers: Investigators Twisted Bride’s Statements

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — The attorneys for a Montana woman accused of killing her new husband say investigators failed to record most of her interrogation and twisted her statements.

Jordan Graham's attorneys are asking a judge to dismiss the indictment accusing her of first-degree murder for allegedly pushing Cody Johnson to his death in Glacier National Park in July.

Prosecutors say Graham admitted that she and Johnson were arguing about her doubts over their eight-day-old marriage when she pushed him over the cliff.

Federal public defender Michael Donahoe writes in court documents filed late Friday an FBI interrogation specialist questioned Graham alone for nearly one and a-half hours without recording it.

Donahue argues the agent did so in order to "shape" Graham's statements.

Donahue says investigators then distorted her statements about what happened on the cliff.
