A Rasmussen survey of 500 likely Montana voters taken June 18th has Congressman Denny Rehberg with a slight 2% point lead over incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Tester. The poll conducted over the telephone has Rehberg with 49% and Tester with 47%, statistically a dead heat. Other polls conducted from November through May show Rehberg with a slight edge over Tester.

The two candidates will not be meeting again to debate until September 5th in Butte. The debate this Sunday at the Montana Broadcasters Association convention in Whitefish will feature only Senator Tester and the Libertarian candidate Dan Cox, as Congressman Rehberg could not make it due to a scheduling problem.
