The Lady Griz shot 45.9 % and scored a season-high number of points in a 79-64 win over Southern Mississippi on the opening night of the Lady Griz Holiday Classic at Missoula. Montana (6-6) hit eight of its 20 three- point attemts. Junior Katie Baker ad her eight career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, sophomore  Torry Hill went 4 for 7 from 3-point range and the Lady Griz bench out-produced USM's 18-3. "I'm a lot better coach tonight because we made some threes," UM coach Robin Selvig said. "We shot the ball well early. The game gets a lot easier when you're making shots."
