Missoula County Public Schools will begin registering students for kindergarten for fall 2012 on Tuesday, April 10, in its nine elementary schools. A child must be age 5 on or before Sept. 10,
2012, to register. The District provides full-day kindergarten classes in all schools. Parents must begin the registration process at the school that serves their neighborhood.

Parents who are unsure what school their child should attend can access boundary information
at www.mcps.k12.mt.us.  A search function (by address) is available and attendance maps may also be viewed. Parents should bring their child’s birth certificate and proof of immunizations to
registration, as well as a utility or phone bill that verifies their physical address. It is important that parents register their child as soon as possible so that students can be included in Kindergarten Roundup (an orientation program for kindergartners and their parents at each school) in May.

The first day of school in the 2012-2013 school year is Tuesday, Aug. 28. To hear my interview with MCPS Public Affairs Director Leslie Brasfield, click below.
