The Kalispell school board has voted to suspend a Glacier High School freshman for the rest of the quarter after a hazing incident on the football bus last month.

The board of trustees listened to statements from the families involved, attorneys and school resource officer Jason Parce before making the decision late Tuesday.

The board voted 8-3 to suspend the 15-year-old student for the remainder of the current quarter. He could return to classes on Oct. 31. School officials had recommended he be expelled.

Six football players were kicked off the team after the Sept. 12 assaults. Police have recommended charges be filed against two of the boys in Youth Court.
