A Flathead High School student has denied allegations that he brought a loaded gun to school.

NBC Montana reports the 16-year-old appeared in court Friday and entered general denials to several charges, including carrying a concealed weapon. The judge ordered him to remain held on $35,000 bond.

Court documents say the teen had been caught skipping class on Jan. 29 when school administrators found that he had a gun in his backpack. Administrators say they also found a bottle of wine and a marijuana pipe in the student's possession.

Resource Officer Cory Clarke says he doesn't believe the teen intended to use the gun.

The teen had allegedly stolen the weapon from a family member and told police he planned on selling it.
