During Tuesday's testimony at the Markus Kaarma murder trial in Missoula District Court, the state called several of the Kaarma's neighbors to the stand.

Robin Rosenquist testified that Janelle Pflager told her about a burglary on April 17th or 18th. Rosenquist said Pflager told her she had purchased a second baby monitor from Costco, so they could see the intruders they next time they came back.

"Do you really . think somebody would come back knowing how upset you are?," Rosenquist asked. "She said, oh yeah, he's going to come back because we are going to bait him."

Jennifer Clark asked her if she was sure that Pflager used the word 'bait'.

"I thought it was really strange, so I even told my husband when I went back in the house, because I wouldn't want someone coming back to my house."

Clark asked Rosenquist if she had gotten the word 'baited' from reading the Missoulian.

She said, "No, I didn't want to read about it."

Another neighbor, Jessica Bracey, testified that Pflager was afraid of being left alone with Kaarma going out of town.

"She had a little guy at home and she was afraid, and the term I heard was 'guns are loaded'," Bracey said. "She did say specifically that what I don't want to happen is to shoot some 14 year-old kid that's breaking into the house to steal money for pot, or something like that."

Testimony continues on Thursday in Missoula District Court.
