A fire in 2006 destroyed much of the Rialto Theatre in Deer Lodge.Since then more than $3.1 million has been raised to restore the historic theatre. Anaconda Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCCC) welding instructors and students started assisting with the restoration of the Rialto Theatre  in neighboring Deer Lodge Montana earlier this summer. The fire escape was no longer to code, and the new air conditioning unit that was installed required a newly-designed way out that would fit around it. The fire escape was finished last week.  Business Community liaison Sonja Shadow  says this has been an  invaluable learning experience for the student trainees. (That interview is attached below)

The original grand opening of the theatre was supposed to be on December 15 but has been delayed due projects that still need to be finished throughout the historic theatre.
