As part of my work-related duties here at 1290 KGVO, once a month I must produce an episode of "Community Viewpoint", our community affairs program that airs on Sunday mornings at 8:00.

I always try to make the focus of the show sports-oriented for two reasons:

1. I like talking about sports, and
2. It's nice to get away from all of the political, religious, and issue-oriented talk that normally fills this station's airtime.

So it was a no-brainer for me to chat with University of Montana athletic director Jim O'Day. The Grizzly fall sports season officially begins this weekend, when the women's soccer team faces Boise State.

O'Day and I cover all of the upcoming fall athletics at the University, and the tremendous year the athletics department had a year ago.

Be sure to tune in to 1290 KGVO on Sunday morning at 8:00 to hear "Community Viewpoint" with Jim O'Day.
