A medical center in Jackson plans to use advanced video technology to connect patients with specialists in other states.St. John's Medical Center is preparing an initiative to allow stroke patients to receive care from distant specialists. The hospital plans to begin using the technology in February.

Lynn Campbell is chief nursing officer at St. John's. Campbell says the system will allow the distant consulting physician to control a camera that can zoom in on the patient and listen to the patient's heartbeat through the stethoscope.
