Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is trying to keep aquatic invasive species such as quagga mussels out of Montana waterways. The system of roadside inspection stations will continue this year. And to make the system work, inspectors will be hired. The seasonal jobs have competitive pay with benefits and run from April through October, officials said.

Detection of invasive mussel larvae at Tiber Reservoir in 2016 started the inspections and a year-round campaign for boaters to "Clean, Drain and Dry" their boat when moving from one waterway to another.

To apply for an inspection job, you must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record. Applications and information is available on-line at the Montana state jobs website.
