Increased Logging Truck Traffic from Timber Sale [AUDIO]

The Bitterroot National Forest is advising travelers that there will be logging traffic on Willow Creek Road and on Butterfly Road #364 near Corvallis beginning next week. Travelers are advised to drive with extra caution as there will be log trucks travelling the roads during the weekdays. The log hauling is associated with the Up Top bundles timber sale which was purchased earlier this year by Tricon Timber. It will provide nearly 140,000 board feet of timber (30 truckloads) to Montana sawmills. The 40 acres of already cut and stacked logs were harvested last summer to build containment line around the 41 Complex wildfires on the Darby Ranger District.
The hauling is scheduled to begin next week and last approximately two weeks. The logs will be hauled to the Tricon mill in St. Regis. For more information contact Pat McKinnon at the Darby Ranger District at (406) 821-3913.
