Today, December 2, Montanans in Glacier County received a flood alert after the Two Medicine River began to overflow its banks.

"With the cold temperatures and the snow that we've had, we've kind of had an ice jam build up along the Two Medicine River in Glacier County," said National Weather Service Meteorologist Erik Gustafson. "Basically, we've been getting ice building up from the bridge about ten miles upstream and its causing some water  to back up a little onto some property adjacent to the river."

The flood is set to extended through Tuesday afternoon. Gustafson says no structures were immediately threatened, but that warmer temperatures in the near future could make the flooding worse.
